Summary

 

This position will be responsible for the procurement of both raw materials and resale items, included but not limited to setting up transportation, creating purchase orders, cycle counting inventories, proactively ordering based on historical usage.  Will assist with monthly and quarterly inventories. Will assist on site dispatch with delivery tickets and processing customer orders. Will assist with data entry and administrative responsibilities for both the quality and safety programs. A safety background is preferred but not required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manage purchase order system by creating and sending PO’s, and receiving goods into the system when they arrive
  • Work with freight companies to ensure timely delivery of purchased materials
  • Manage required monthly and quarterly inventories
  • Assist dispatch in their daily functions, including printing and sorting delivery tickets, processing pallet returns, setting up delivery appointments with stores
  • Maintain safety records and prepare monthly safety reports
  • Ensure the completion of documentation for safety and quality trainings
  • Observe employees and determine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used
  • Ensure monthly inspections and weekly meetings are completed each month
  • Maintain updated safety binders and OSHA recordkeeping compliance
  • Record the results of quality tests into the proper databases
  • Maintenance and housekeeping of assigned areas and equipment

Requirements / Education / Experience

 

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent in academic background and experience or training
  • Experience with data entry preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
  • Detail-oriented with a dedication to continuous improvement and team building
  • Excellent verbal, written communications and presentations skills
  • Ability to work with and through other company administrative, production and technical personnel at all levels to achieve plant and corporate goals
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software 

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • May need to lift 50lbs
