Job Title: Grinder Laborer – Rock Quarry
Job Summary
The Grinder Laborer supports quarry operations by assisting with the grinding, crushing, and processing of rock materials. This role involves operating and maintaining grinding equipment, performing manual labor, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain rock grinding and crushing equipment.
- Assist with feeding raw materials into grinders, crushers, and screens.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment, identifying issues or hazards.
- Clean, lubricate, and make minor repairs or adjustments to machinery as needed.
- Shovel, sweep, and remove debris around equipment and work areas.
- Load and unload materials using hand tools or small equipment.
- Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
- Communicate equipment issues or production concerns to supervisors.
- Support general quarry labor tasks as assigned, including:
- Moving materials
- Assisting operators and mechanics
- Basic site housekeeping
- Ensure production areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in quarry, mining, construction, or industrial labor preferred.
- Ability to safely operate grinding and crushing equipment (training available).
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment maintenance.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in dusty, noisy, or rugged environments.
- Commitment to safety practices and following procedures.
