Position Overview

 

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of cement bulkers.  Drivers will cement and other materials to inter-company locations. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Operate cement tanker deliveries to job sites.
  • Drive cement tanker to supply terminals to pick up product and return to designated plants for unloading.
  • Assemble loading and unloading tubes.
  • In the event of a cement spill, assist in clean up.
  • Clean truck after loading and delivery to prevent cement from hardening on truck and trailer.
  • Spray surfaces of truck with acid compound to clean truck and trailer in accordance with company standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates, License, Registrations

  • Must possess a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A with appropriate endorsements.
  • Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.

 

Work Requirements

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Incident free driving record preferred
  • May be subject drug and alcohol, medical exams and physical agilities testing.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to communicate using two-way radio.
  • Basic math
  • Basic computer skills preferred

GRIP - with at least 75 lbs. of force                  

CLIMBING - in, around, and on equipment                  

HEAVY LIFTING - of extremely awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist

AWKWARD POSITIONS – getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground

FLEXIBILITY- awkward reaches                    

BALANCE – including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.     

VISION- 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions

HEARING – corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions from coworkers
