Job Summary
The Assistant Site Manager position is a training and development position with management expectations of progression within the organization. This position works closely with the Site Manager, Production Supervisor, OPL Lead and VP of Operations and to develop knowledge of product manufacturing procedures, development of the five plant fundamentals and working knowledge of plant processes. Expected to develop, implement and maintain procedures and programs to maximize quality and production while minimizing costs.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop a working knowledge of individual plants and processes to ensure decisions and recommendations can be made objectively
- Assist in management of Capital Project Design, installation and commissioning
- Enforce safe, efficient, cost-effective operation and budget of an assigned project or plant operation
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
- Prepare reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests
- Perform tests on operating plant systems to find the efficiencies of the equipment
- Aid management in maintaining the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations
- Perform audits and involved with month-end activity reporting
- Works closely with the equipment suppliers, plant staff and Process Area Teams to ensure the successful operation of the plant
- Contact suppliers and contractors for bids and review and make recommendations for awarding contracts and issue purchase orders for materials or work to be performed
- Coordinate installation, start-up and document field changes of new equipment, buildings or layout
- Investigate potential plant improvements and develop recommendations for such improvements
- Monitor quality control and standards; record and report as required
- Attend and contribute to project meetings to ensure correct timely completion
- Supports cost saving measures & efficient quality control processes
- Track and analyze inventory records
- Frequently test all equipment for safety and effectiveness
- Keep neat, accurate and well-marked files
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing
- 2+ years supervisory experience
- Computer proficient; confident using data analysis programs and Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills
- Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
- Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally
- Ability to assess and interpret financial data
- Moderate travel required; must be willing to work in or travel to other locations as needed
- Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours
- Must be able to work independently and with groups
- Must be able to work under time constraints as needed
