Position Overview


The National Fleet Manager is responsible for execution of the Oldcastle Infrastructure private fleet strategy.  The incumbent will be focused implementing the private fleet strategy with Oldcastle Infrastructure Business Units.  The position’s goals are to increase service levels for operations and customers, and to reduce transportation costs for the company’s private fleet.


As a member of the Supply Chain team the National Fleet Manager is responsible for assisting in site reporting of fleet safety for Oldcastle Infrastructure fleet accidents and CSA scores.  This position will also assist in championing the sustainability strategy as it relates to decarbonization and Scope 3 emissions through fleet operations optimization and equipment selection.  This role will utilize the Mobile Equipment and Logistics Category teams to develop strategies, leverage CRH partnerships with equipment and maintenance vendors, establish effective supply programs, and manage the overall success of the programs. The role ensures that local business requirements are considered in the category strategy.


The National Fleet Manager will build strong relationships and work directly with key internal stakeholders, suppliers, CRH procurement personnel, specifiers, subject matter experts, management, and others to ensure program objectives are achieved.




  • Alignment with key stakeholders as well as market and America’s fleet strategies.
  • Assist with creation and execution of overall fleet strategy in collaboration with the business units.
  • Conduct fleet cost reviews and consistent fleet cost models to identify savings opportunities.  Evaluates contracts, service agreements, and suppliers to facilitate final supplier base decisions with relevant stakeholders including contract negotiations.
  • Accountable for procurement and equipment KPI Performance Management reporting.
  • Ensures execution of Supplier-to-Pay S2P process (from screening to onboarding and lifecycle management) for fleet suppliers.
  • Maintains strategic relationships with key suppliers, develops, and maintains strategic relationships with internal Logistics stakeholders, and CRH North American Logistics partners.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with relevant industry organizations.
  • Champion fleet equipment decarbonization strategy, and scope 3 emission reductions.
  • Analyzes supply market, anticipates changes, and drives associated private fleet strategy decisions.
  • Responsible for identifying private fleet safety systems in collaboration with Global Category Team, such as telematics, ELD, cameras, etc. and working with the business to implement.
  • Develop and implement audit process for fleet equipment, fleet drivers, and software packages.
  • Primary contact person for the business in all private fleet operations aspects, including DOT, FMCSA, CSA regulations.
  • Helps to educate compliance and assist with KPI reporting with respect to overall strategy and FMCSA, DOT and CSA regulations.


Knowledge/Skill Requirements


  • Well-rounded and experienced logistics / transportation professional with sound business acumen.
  • Experience with all modes of transportation and negotiation with suppliers.
  • Multi-site fleet management, including safety, equipment, and operations.
  • Data and people driven person, decision maker.
  • Ability to design, lead and drive the execution of the fleet strategy.
  • A dedicated and engaged partner who strongly engages with the business, to enhance collaboration and obtaining the Logistics procurement objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with FMCSA and CSA and ability to report compliance.




  • Educated with a Supply Chain, Logistics / Transportation or Business Degree
  • 5+ years of transportation/logistics/supply-chain experience preferred.
  • Previous Private Fleet experience required; CTP Designation strongly preferred.
  • Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages are considered a plus.
  • Willing to cooperate in cross-functional CRH projects.
