What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll drive a tanker to transport cement and oil from outlet plants to various concrete and asphalt plant locations. Each day will provide you with a different adventure. Location: Eugene area.
Shift: Primarily work 10 hours per day, 5 days per week. Will also be required to work more hours, per DOT regulations, and up to 6 days per week as needed during the busy construction season.
What You Can Do (Minimum Qualifications)
- Obtain a Valid (CDL) Class A with interstate medical card.
- Have Doubles/triples and tanker endorsement.
- Ability to operate manual transmission.
- Ability to communicate using two-way radio.
- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends/holidays as needed.
- Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operational order and report maintenance or repair issues.
- Drive truck to loading location, monitoring various gauges during operation of vehicle.
- Ensure all hoses and clamps are safely secured, and that the material loaded is correct based on the instructions from the team.
- High attention to detail to distinguish different types of materials. Discharging a product into the wrong cement silo or oil tank is very costly.
- Write entries in logbook: Noting freight hauled, destination, hours/miles driven and rest periods.
- Maintain a safe work area and vehicle.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Regular and timely attendance.
