Position Summary


We are seeking an expert to join Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® (OBE) as a Product Marketing Director. In this role you will be tasked with the development and maintenance of predominantly our metal product portfolio to include helping set our product strategy ensuring product success and increasing the profitability of the architectural metal category.  


You will have a thorough understanding of the product marketing mix and to apply this to make strategic marketing plans.  You will be well versed on the competitive landscape and be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned. You will have a strong insight into our customers knowing who they are, how they buy and their key buying criteria.  You must possess a unique blend of marketing, business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must also be highly collaborative and enjoy working in a decentralized environment, spending time in the market to understand market problems, and finding innovative solutions for the broader market.




  • Continually evaluate existing and potential markets for architectural metal products
  • Analyze various market segments and collaborate with leadership on direction
  • Develop positioning efforts across metal markets – continually maintaining clear and concise product positioning
  • Provide product pricing guidance by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure they are consistent with product strategy, convey a relevant message, and provide sufficient return-on-investment (ROI)
  • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information; develop product sales strategies
  • Recommend new products for development by analyzing market trends, understanding our key competencies, and strategizing on growth areas that will provide a sufficient ROI


Experience and Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of product marketing experience with proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product line throughout its lifecycle
  • Subject matter expert/industry experience in building products manufacturing with architectural metal experience preferred
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to senior leadership
  • Analytically minded with a track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job
  • Collaborative, team oriented and skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a decentralized matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Some travel necessary, approx. 10-15%
