Summary

 

This position is responsible for Accounts Receivable Clerk and is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to work in our finance department. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with your team members, customer service and sales
  • Run Experian Credit Reports and send out reference requests on potential customers
  • Research potential customers
  • Prepare new credit files and review existing credit files to determine if customer credit information needs to be updated
  • Enter information into Docunavage
  • Research short pays and provide back-up documentation to Credit/Collection Manager
  • Process credit memos to customer accounts based on back up and approvals provided by Credit/Collection Manager
  • Communicate and follow up effectively and timely with credit/collections managers regarding their accounts and sales regarding credit applications
  • Answer all vendors and customers inquire and issue resolution of problems
  • Ensure compliance with all standard accounting policies/procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements / Education / Experience 

 

  • Associate degree from a two-year college and a minimum of 2 years of Accounts Receivable
  • Intermediate Excel skills and proficient with MS office
  • A high degree of comfort with technology and multiple applications
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
  • Previous accounting experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting math and accurate in data entry and data research with 10-key operation experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as new vendor forms, purchase orders, receiving documents, vendor statements and invoices, credit applications, and SOX documents
  • Strong ability and skill to follow-up, attention to detail and organization

 

Physical Environment 

 

  • Lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
