Job Summary

 

The Maintenance Supervisor is a critical role within our organization, directly reporting to the Maintenance Manager. This position is pivotal in supervising the day-to-day operations and ensuring the performance of all employees during the assigned shift aligns with the team and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in industrial maintenance, with specific expertise in powder coating and maintenance equipment, and a willingness to address and solve maintenance challenges collaboratively. Experience in areas such as Electrical/PLC, Mechanical, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Welding, Machining, and Conveyor systems is essential. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Champion and enforce reliability-centered maintenance principles.
  • Develop and manage shift schedules for maintenance staff.
  • Lead daily safety and workload planning meetings.
  • Oversee and audit maintenance safety programs, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Direct supervision of the maintenance team, including mechanics, welders, electricians, and facilities staff across all shifts.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and reliability, managing repairs and upkeep of plant machinery, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Utilize decision-making skills for equipment repair actions, promoting a proactive maintenance approach.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, modifications, and maintenance of plant equipment, aiming to reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
  • Manage and prioritize maintenance schedules, coordinating activities to support production and quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development within the maintenance team.
  • Ensure effective communication, motivation, and supervision of maintenance personnel, including performance management, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with procurement for sourcing, estimates, and cost quotes as necessary.
  • Uphold safety, housekeeping, and 5S practices within the maintenance domain.
  • Liaise with Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) to manage inventory and component updates.
  • Other duties may be assigned from Management.

 

Requirements

 

  • Technical School Diploma and/or Journeyman Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a maintenance or related field.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A minimum of 4 years of journey-level experience in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions at a supervisory level.
  • Skilled in disciplinary actions and documentation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Capable of analyzing processes, identifying problems, and developing effective solutions.
  • Basic understanding of technical machinery and equipment processes.
