What You Will Do…
Are you eager to lead a thriving operation in the construction and manufacturing industry? We are seeking a dedicated Area Supervisor to guide our aggregate and ready-mix concrete business units to new heights of success. This pivotal role oversees personnel, safety, operations, sales, finance, equipment and other critical support functions for three plants and three pits in Ephrata, Othello, and Quincy.

 

You’ll have the primary responsibility of ensuring effective execution of company operational performance and growth strategy, providing leadership and developmental guidance to a team of plant personnel, drivers, and frontline supervisors. As the Area Supervisor, you’ll see the impacts of your work each day in every project we complete – from driveways to highways and parking lots to airports – you’ll play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

 

Location: This is an in-person position based out of Ephrata, WA.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A mentor who thrives on leading and developing teams, fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and high safety standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisor and/or management experience in construction, manufacturing, transportation, logistic or other closely related industries.
  • A strategic, creative, and analytical thinker with a flair for optimizing performance and achieving goals. 
  • A customer service champion, adept at problem-solving and ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Technologically savvy, with proficiency in PC Programs and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You have a valid driver’s license, current authorization to work in the United States, and can pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing and criminal background check. Per RCW 49.44.240 this position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.

  • Knowledge of ready-mixed concrete and/or aggregate production.
  • Familiarity or exposure to operating budgets and/or analyzing financial information.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Responsible for daily aggregate and ready-mix concrete operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety, collaborating with field personnel to minimize risks and enhance safety for all employees.
  • Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company goals. 
  • Manage the operating budget for the fiscal year under the direction of management.
  • Foster an environment that encourages quality product and best-in-class customer service, ensuring on-time delivery and driver productivity
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure major equipment and plant maintenance and repairs are efficiently handled.
  • Manage relationships with vendors for procurement of raw materials, equipment and plant maintenance services.
  • Recommend and assist with efforts to improve management of plants and financial performance.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to optimize efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective resource management.
  • Build effective teams and develop direct reports for future opportunities.
  • Supervise and lead a team in personal performance management, training and development, succession planning, and effective recruiting and hiring.
  • Ensure that all crews have the tools and training to operate safely at all times and that all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environment and other applicable areas are strictly enforced.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
  • Other tasks as assigned to meet business needs.

  • Tempo is fast-paced with deadlines.
  • The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be moderate.
  • An average of 40 – 50 hours per week, with additional as needed to meet business needs. May include occasional early morning attendance as needed. 
  • The ability to commute to locations within the assigned area of responsibility (Ephrata, Othello, Quincy).
  • May include up to 5% overnight travel within the Pacific Northwest.
