Position Overview

This role oversee and direct all aspects of the quality control production across multiple production sites for the Cadillac Asphalt business. The QC Director leads the quality control team and will be responsible for ensuring a high level of safety, quality and integrity in all aspects of production. The Quality Control Director will be responsible for the direction of Cadillac Asphalt’s quality control and programs and ensuring compliance with the Company, customer and government procedures.

 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborates with management and senior staff across operations and plants to establish acceptable quality standards
  • develop and implement quality standard testing evaluation processes, and systems, audit for current standards, implementation of new standards and non-conformations.
  • Facilitates communication among production divisions and management.
  • Assesses test results and approves recommended changes.
  • Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Conducts random inspections and quality control checks.
  • Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
  • This individual will work with key stakeholders across the organization to improve the way quality requirements are being met, reducing complexities, introducing and utilizing effective KPIs
  • Drives automation and digitalization to better meet QMS requirements.
  • Manages, coaches, and develops direct reports

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related industrial, construction management, or business field required.
  • 10 more years of experience in Quality Control management role with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • Proficient in developing protocols, summary reports, and SOPs.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Control standards, cGMP, CGLP, Data Integrity, and Risk Management.
  • Ability to carry out standardized laboratory tests in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic operating procedures and mechanics of an asphalt plant.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to, but not limited to, safety, the environment and transportation.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate and analyze data.  This includes Outlook, MS Office programs, Command QC, Stonemount and other web-based programs.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Work may be performed in an office setting and lab at plant. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds.

 

This position will work most of the time in an office setting with up to 25% of time travel required to go to other work locations, plants, labs or off-site meeting. Work environment will vary depending on job task.
