Position: Summer Temporary Laborer
Shift: Summer Temporary 9-week position (06/03/24 -08/02/24) 

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

What you’ll be contributing:

• Performs clean-up and housekeeping of plant and plant grounds.
• Performs cleaning of plant equipment
• Assist in unloading materials.
• Cleans roofs, drainage ditches, and storm drains. 
• Digs and maintains cement storage silos.
• Performs computer work as needed.
• Operates all mobile equipment necessary to complete job tasks.
• Assists personnel, as appropriate.
• Responsible for housekeeping and clean-up of immediate work areas or in other areas in conjunction with assigned duties
• Responsible for documentation associated with job duties.
• Observes all safety rules, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• Ability to read and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, and similar information.
• Must successfully complete on-the-job training by designated supervision or otherwise qualified individuals.
• Ability to use a shovel safely and effectively, pick, broom, scoop, hand tools, scraper, sledgehammer, wheelbarrow, water hose, lawn mower, tractor, forklift, and all job-related mobile equipment.
• Work requires walking; lifting up to 125 pounds; bending; pushing; pulling; climbing ladders and stairs; working at elevated heights.

What to expect in a cement environment:

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
