Join a company where your leadership directly shapes operational excellence, team culture, and customer satisfaction. We’re looking for a hands‑on, people‑focused Plant Operations Manager to oversee multiple ready‑mix concrete plants across Charlotte, Sarasota, and Manatee counties.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Develop Teams

  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and support to Concrete Delivery Professionals, batch operators, and plant personnel.

  • Build a strong team culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Foster collaboration across production and delivery teams to achieve operational excellence.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Oversee batching operations, yard maintenance, and driver performance across multiple locations.

  • Ensure 100% on‑time delivery, high driver productivity, and maximum plant uptime.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce performance to meet customer and production needs.

  • Maintain accurate reporting, payroll approvals, and daily KPI tracking.

Champion Safety & Environmental Standards

  • Lead all safety initiatives and ensure full compliance with company and regulatory programs.

  • Conduct weekly safety meetings, routine inspections, and corrective action follow‑ups.

  • Oversee storm‑water, spill prevention, and environmental compliance requirements.

Maintain Equipment & Facilities

  • Inspect vehicles and equipment regularly and prioritize repairs.

  • Ensure plants, equipment, and safety systems are clean, functional, and well‑maintained.

  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with the Regional Manager.

Ensure Quality & Product Integrity

  • Perform and document daily product testing.

  • Maintain DOT‑compliant stockpiles and calibrated moisture probes.

  • Partner closely with the Quality Control team on mix design and product consistency.

Oversee Daily Operations

  • Batch concrete according to mix design and job specifications.

  • Manage raw material inventory and coordinate orders with the Customer Service Center.

  • Handle plant maintenance, returned concrete procedures, and all received payments.

 

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of Ready Mix Concrete experience (required).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and coach diverse teams.

  • Knowledge of local geography, company products, and industry standards.

  • Experience supervising staff (union experience a plus).

  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and solve problems proactively.

  • Willingness to work 10–12 hour shifts, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Physical ability to walk, climb, lift, and perform hands‑on plant tasks.

  • Basic computer proficiency (batching systems, billing, communication tools).

  • CDL Class A or B may be required.

  • DOT certification (or willingness to obtain).
