Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Customer Order Management Functional Lead, the SAP TM Business Analyst will be responsible for day-to-day support and for projects related specifically to the Transportation Management module in SAP. This person is responsible for working closely with business users (customer service, supply chain and IT support technical support teams, streamlining business functions using analytical tools along with best practices. Business and technology skills and excellent people skills are a must. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with key business resources in providing SAP functional support for the TM module, understand their needs, prioritize efforts and recommend changes or alternative solutions when multiple options are available.
  • Provide recommendations for optimizing existing system, upgrades, new version/functionality implementations including option comparisons and well researched recommendations. Lead transition of new acquisition companies as they are migrated to SAP TM.
  • Perform hands-on configuration in the SAP TM module.
  • Ensure the consistent treatment of data and data accuracy including data accuracy in downstream systems such as Business Intelligence and data warehouses.
  • Create, deploy and train on various business intelligence tools.
  • Have a deep understanding of the integration and relationship between SAP modules, especially as they relate to SD & MM modules.
  • Collect and review business requirements, recognize gaps in business processes, create functional designs, data and functional mapping, undertake hands on configuration of modules, communicate with developers, perform unit and integration tests and analyze results.
  • Manage and control implementation of changes without business interruption.
  • Support the deployment of production applications and provide post-production support related to custom system enhancements and integration points.
  • Participate in system and application upgrades, enhancements and resolutions.
  • Ensure company and department standards are always followed and provide sources and documentation for potential IT audits.
  • Train users on proper usage of the SAP system.
  • Support other team members and priorities as assigned.
  • Well versed with SAP TM collaboration portal/ SAP TM Optimization/ Load tendering/ Accessorial and Line haul charges/ capturing, Planned and Unplanned costs, Track and trace event management for the loads.
  • Inbound/ Outbound interfaces with Carriers.
  • Experience with postproduction support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Requires minimum of 7 years’ experience working in TM module (SAP Certification would be a benefit).
  • Technical knowledge on SAP TM (version 9.1 minimum).
  • Experience in SAP business analysis, system analysis, requirements gathering, testing, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases and user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with users at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Ability to meet established priorities and schedules, and willingness to undertake assignments involving multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environment (local, virtual).
