Position Overview

This position offers a diverse set of responsibilities and will work alongside senior management on various issues and projects. The candidate must be a skilled financial professional who understands business, operations, and financial processes; can integrate finance and operations and can collaborate with operational leadership.  Core behavioral characteristics we seek include being a partner to business managers; implementing analytical decision-making in the business; and proactively finding opportunities and recommending ideas for increased profitability.  Must possess leadership qualities; treats others with respect, sets a positive tone, and demonstrates patience and calmness when handling adversity. 


Wage ranges from $110,000-$125,000 annually depending on experience. 


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Is a business partner to region managers providing financial analysis, reports and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
  • Participates in / coordinates the region’s monthly close process with the OpCo controllers, the Region CFO, division personnel, and others.
  • Prepares monthly commentary of financial results and reports to leaders.
  • Prepares and helps review region forecasts and budgets (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with OpCo controllers.
  • Prepares region financial reporting to AMAT (quarterly IFRS/GAAP packs, annual deliverables).
  • Participates in preparation of financial data for strategic planning process.
  • Perform quantitative analysis of operational and financial data using various programs, reports and tools.
  • Analyze past financial information and results, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations.
  • Assists with the evaluation and integration of acquisitions.  Reports on acquisition performance.
  • Ensures compliance with AMAT and West Division policies and procedures and internal controls (SOX).
  • Performs / reviews balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supports external / internal audits.
  • Assists / reviews inventory valuations.
  • Actively participates in process improvement efforts.
  • Champions efforts to improve working capital within the region.
  • Supervises / mentors accounting staff within the region.
  • Reports on carbon reduction efforts within the region.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or 10+ years related experience (construction industry)
  • Master’s degree in Accounting – Preferred
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA – Preferred


Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Excellent communication (oral, written) and presentation skills
  • High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach; work well in a team. 
  • Demonstrate comfort in communicating and partnering with senior level executives on sensitive employee issues.
  • Strong skill in planning and organization, as well as skills in project management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, appropriate manner.
  • Ability to summarize data from different sources into a concise format that can be easily expanded and communicated to support initiatives.

Work Requirements

  • Must be proficient -- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  Experience with Access preferred, but not required.
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required aprox 20%.
