Position Overview
Responsible for the safety, operations, training, quality and productivity of all shop and equipment personnel within United Companies. Ensure maximum production while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of United Companies and CRH.
Wage range from $30.00 to $35.00 dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
• Ensure that all operations are in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, MSHA, etc.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of the shop and equipment departments including production, inventory management, mobilization, quality, equipment maintenance, shop performance, and record keeping.
• Monitor shop and equipment operational performance against budget, performance, target setting, and quality standards.
• Identify and implement operational performance optimization opportunities to enhance the company’s financial returns.
• Lead shop and equipment department managers in safety best practices and implementation of new or changing production and maintenance procedures, purchasing guidelines, and technical training.
• Implement and manage the equipment maintenance best practices, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and equipment utilization.
• Manage the personnel via department leaders in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable employment laws. This includes training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding employees, disciplining employees, long term personnel development and succession planning, as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
• 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations required.
• College or trade school education in diesel repair preferred.
Work Requirements
• Must be 18 years in age or older.
• Standard state-issued driver’s license
• Must be proficient in Microsoft suite of tools including Excel, Word and Outlook, and database software.
• Must be able to utilize internet and communicate effectively.
• Pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check will be required.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
• Demonstrated ability to train, motivate and lead employees.
• Basic knowledge of labor and employment laws.
• Demonstrate basic mathematical skills as well as the ability to interpret and compute basic formulas.
• Willingness and ability to work in and adapt to changes in circumstances, tasks, customer needs and other conditions that may affect their daily responsibilities.
• Ability to cope well in stressful environments and communicate professionally.
• Demonstrate a strong dedication to meeting the needs and expectations of our external customers.
• Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
