PARTS RUNNER
Position Overview
Responsibilities includes assisting the job Foremen on procuring materials, supplies and parts needed and delivering in a timely fashion to assure we meet the daily schedule.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The Parts Runner will be responsible for the daily routine delivery routes and keeping track of transactions made during the runs. They will also be responsible for the following:
- Ensure all parts are picked up and delivered to the appropriate location in a timely manner.
- Always puts his or her safety and the safety of coworkers and the general public first.
- Picks up parts from vendors and delivers to multiple locations.
- Place orders with vendors and procure Purchase Orders for all transactions
- Be required to drive company vehicle to pick up materials and deliver to job site and take vehicle to regular maintenance check-ups
- Ability to adapt to changing and process driven environment.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Obey all traffic laws
- Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Commits to long hours of work, nights and weekends when necessary to meet schedule.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have a valid driver’s license.
Education/Experience
- High School Degree required or GED.
- Two (2) years’ experience in parts running and deliveries
- Able to read and/ or follow written and verbal instructions and implement the same.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- High ethical standards
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to meet individual deadlines, as well as work collaboratively with team to help them meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Able to communicate with others by telephone and in person.
- Able to utilize a computer for e-mail communication, and preparation of documents.
- May require sitting for extended periods of time.
- May require periodically lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for pickup and delivery of supplies/materials/parts for the road crews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for own personal safety at all times; as well as maintain the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.
- Pickup and delivery of materials/parts for road crews and other departments at request.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Must meet the requirements to drive a company vehicle.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
Other Requirements
- Current Drivers License and reliable source of transportation.
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times.
- Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to the Mountain Enterprises Inc. Safety Manual.
- Strict adherence to the Mountain Enterprises, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned.
