Primary Purpose

 

This position reports to the Vice President, Finance and will provide financial analysis and accounting support to the VP Finance, OpCo President, and various Line of Business Managers within Pennsy Supply Inc.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

This position will support business operations through a variety of routine activities, project work and special assignments at Pennsy Supply Inc.  The position requires a skilled, motivated financial professional who has experience in a manufacturing/production setting and has the ability to integrate manufacturing finance with operations to understand and drive profitability.

 

Essential Duties and Functions

 

  • Partners with all lines of business for the development of monthly forecasts to predict the organization’s future profits and cash flows
  • Support all lines of business with annual target setting and budget creation
  • Evaluates the financial returns and profitability for capital expenditures and cost reduction projects
  • Provides objective coaching and counseling to management teams on relevant financial matters
  • Construction Accounting:
  • Review of all jobs and posting of revenue monthly
  • Work with Cost engineer to ensure proper daily P&L activity.
  • IFRS15 and Construction accounting SOX Compliance.
  • Meet all CRH information requirements:
  • Monthly Financial Reporting
  • GAAP, IFRS reporting (semiannual)
  • Budget / Periodic re-forecasts
  • Business Intelligence liaison (Tableau)
  • Collaborates with the local SOX compliance officer to maintain and implement effective internal controls and satisfy information requirements of external and internal auditors.
  • Create and maintain documentation of a key processes and activities within individual scope of responsibility
  • Identify recommend and implement process improvement initiatives to drive simplicity, automate, remove non-value-added work and standardize processes
  • Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations, including those set forth by the IRS, PA State Government, US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency.
  • Comply with all CRH procedures, policies and documentation requirements
  • Crosstrain with the other Business Analyst and Finance team members to ensure knowledge transfer and development
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

  • None

 

Travel

 

  • 10% – 15% Travel to local plants or other domestic CRH sites as required.

 

Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • BS degree in Accounting minimum of one to three years related experience required, MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Individual must possess a working knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts, including P&L’s and relevant balance sheet accounts.
  • Must demonstrate strong numerical skills and the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions. 
  • Attention to detail and presentation of the work product to a high standard is required.
  • Individual must possess a questioning mind and the ability to think independently. 
  • Ability to challenge situations in a constructive manner and present reasonable alternatives.   
  • Must possess superior problem-solving skills:  ability to identify and investigate potential problems with respect to accounting and internal control issues.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

  • Individual must possess strong computer skills and be proficient with Windows, Excel and Word.
