Position Overview

Ensure safe, efficient and proper operation of feed conveyors, hoppers, chutes.

 

Compensation

Starting Rate $29.50+

Roles & Responsibilities

(Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Inspect work area and complete Work Area Inspection forms and Production report daily.
  • May be called upon at discretion of the Plant Manager to perform any other duties assigned and to assist other departments if necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance.
  • Assist in repairs and maintain housekeeping.
  • Wear a hardhat, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hearing protection and respirator as needed.
  • Learn and implement OSHA standards and regulations to insure a safe operating environment is maintained at all times.  Report any safety concerns to the Plant Manager immediately.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

Required

  • High School or GED
  • Successful completion of MSHA/OSHA Training
  • Task training on an as needed basis

 

 

Preferred:

  • Welding and Cuttings skills useful.
  • Knowledge of asphalt production preferred.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Basic mechanical skills needed.
  • Must possess the ability to properly splice and maintain conveyor belts.
  • Must be able to identify areas of containment.
  • Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Able to perform all duties without a direct threat of injury to the individual or others.
  • Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrates safe, productive job performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and work well with other personnel.
  • Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with simple problems.
  • Ability to read English or Spanish.
