Job Summary

 

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Technician Leads primary responsibilities will be focused on leading the quality inspectors on performing daily inspections to ensure the product meet the customer specifications and industry standards. They will be responsible to communicate daily with operations team on quality issues and will coach and direct the operations team on interpreting quality standards, troubleshooting quality issues and driving continuous improvement in product quality.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Disposition of non-conforming product and determining sort criteria.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality related issues across the production floor.
  • Attend Production and tooling meetings.
  • Administer the NCR system and manage quarantine product area to ensure timely disposition and control of non-conforming products.
  • Lead the team of quality auditors, ensuring that day-to-day quality control activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Keep up on standards and regulations.
  • Analyze defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Responsible to maintain all quality records for site.
  • Fill in as Quality Auditor as needed.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and training to Quality Auditors and production employees on new products, measurement methods and equipment.
  • Perform Internal Audits, create audit reports and report results to Management Team.
  • Assist in external audits, such UL, ETL, ISO etc.
  • Assist Plant Site Manager with evaluation and investigation of quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Communicate with production on quality issues.
  • Reduce scrap, increase productivity and efficiency in the Quality area.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment through proper 5S and housekeeping.
  • Participate in plant wide safety effort.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and injection molding operations and collaborate with engineering and production team to enhance quality standards.
  • Manages plant calibrations and ensures all measuring equipment and inspection tools are in tolerance.
  • Perform incoming testing of materials and components and ensures inspection records/COC’s are included with shipment.
  • Manages the First Article Inspection efforts for site.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Ability to coach, train and develop others.
  • Proficient in the use of quality inspection tools/equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of calibration practices
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to gather and present information to others.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and make decisions with limited information.
  • Experience using Microsoft office Suite software, exp. Excel, Word etc.
  • Good English language verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Internal Audit programs.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

 

Compensation

 

  • The hourly pay rate is $29.50/hr.
