Oldcastle Infrastructure is seeking a Financial Controller for our US based subsidiary, Wastewater Solutions. The Wastewater subsidiary is a highly engineered product-driven business servicing the North American water market.
The role is a key financial leadership position overseeing the accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for the US Wastewater business.
The individual will lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency. Developing talent and fostering collaboration to promote a positive work environment will be essential in our inclusive and innovative culture.
Location
- This position will be a hybrid schedule based out of our office in Hillsboro, OR.
Job Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end accounting close process including the review of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations which may include accruals, amortization, depreciation etc.
- Oversee project progress reviews, ensuring revenue and cost recognition are in-line with accounting standards, as well as accuracy of financial information.
- Lead and develop the accounting team to achieve goals in-line with the organization.
- Collaborate with business leaders to ensure strong financial understanding and to support business performance and growth.
- Collaborate with the F, P&A team to produce accurate financial forecasts and budgets.
- Functional expert in accounting and financial reporting related matters who will provide guidance on US GAAP & IFRS ensuring the integrity of the financial results delivered to Oldcastle.
- Support the establishment and enhancement of a strong internal control environment.
- Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Responsible for oversight of all treasury and T&E matters.
- Work cross functionally with our leaders to scale and optimize processes supporting business growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development, ensuring effective performance management and talent development.
- Work with CRH’s internal auditors to ensure accurate and timely information is provided for examinations, SOX compliance and related financial projects.
- Key contributor to change projects, including ERP management and compliance considerations as the business executes its growth strategy.
Job Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification required.
- At least 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a listed company environment with exposure in construction products industry.
- Bachelor’s degree with accounting certification or equivalent in experience/training in the similar fields and/or equivalent experience
- Understanding of SOX requirements and US GAAP
- Strong communicator with history of synthesizing/communicating complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a demonstrated history of implementing business process changes and driving innovation.
- SAP & ERP change management experience preferred.
- Mergers and Acquisitions experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across different teams and departments.
