Position Summary

 

The Product Manager will be responsible for:

  • All documents and design information from product development to delivery and operation of the wastewater products. Examples include design/sizing spreadsheets, fabrication documentation, technical sales collateral, and O&M manuals.
  • Gathering of product related market intel to drive new applications and products.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, sales, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
  • Assist the Operations Director and Engineering Manager on improving the cost structure and operational efficiencies with our external vendors.

 

Key Duties

 

  • Work with Wastewater and Product Development teams to define, update and maintain the product strategy and roadmap.
  • Work with Marketing team to develop all sales enablement tools.
  • Provide training to sales and internal teams on how to position the product and communicate product features and advantages to our clients.
  • Identifies customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information. Work with Marketing to deeply understand market research to seek-out growth opportunities for the current product line-up as well as future products.
  • Work with team to make recommendations on the scope of present and future product lines by reviewing, regulations, product specifications, new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Work with external fabricators and internal design team to continually improve commercialization of products to lower costs and elevate quality.
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with internal teams.
  • Update and maintain technical documents required to provide customer products including O&M’s, installation type drawings, etc.
  • Manage AWW ECR/ECO process in collaboration with Engineering manager.
  • Support Non-conformance resolution process.
  • Prepare product portfolio for scalability.
  • Assist with product integration into AWW CRM/ERP systems.
  • Assist with supply chain activities including quoting, and sourcing and improving production efficiencies.
  • Determine and work with Hydro team to deliver design changes and features with corresponding justification.
  • Support core positioning and messaging for the products.
  • Support the Regional Sales Managers in sales force training as needed. Drive development of sales tools and marketing collateral, work with necessary support w/in Hydro.
  • Provide necessary input to leadership to facilitate management of the commercial optimization of the Group’s product and services portfolio, including the identification of growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate and direct the various activities across the businesses that are required for the successful commercialization of a product/service i.e. customer needs analysis; technical development; product design for use and manufacture; supply chain; marketing; sales; and servicing.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Competence & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field such as engineered products/construction industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering and/or technical product experience.
  • Engineering and problem-solving experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient experience with Inventor, AutoCAD and related software or similar 3-D packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment, multi-task, and adapt to frequent change.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Skills and Attributes

 

  • Ability to work with people from all backgrounds.
  • Possess proven technical and commercial skills.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD.
  • Excellent understanding of the needs of the industry, its structure, and key customers.
  • The ability to work cross-functionally with product development, operations, marketing, sales, finance, and engineering.
