Job Description Summary
We seek a qualified, safety-minded, detail-oriented, highly organized individual with strong computer and communication skills to work as an Accountant/Accounting Assistant. This position offers a diverse set of entry-level and accounting-related job responsibilities. The desired candidate will embrace a team concept when completing assigned tasks and a strong commitment to do whatever is necessary to perform high-quality work, meet deadlines, and finish assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Ensure company compliance with all applicable SOX requirements
- Overseeing payroll accuracy and compliance
- Able to work with corporate shared services team
- Supports the Controller and Operations Management team
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against established targets
- Assists in the monthly closing procedures, including recording journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring all entries are correctly recorded
- Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Possess strong organizational, analytical and communication skills, and an ability to work under pressure handling multiple and shifting priorities
- Excellent computer skills including email, Internet, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Any other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
The educational and experience requirement of the position include:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred
- Or related experience and/or training
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Requirements
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Report to the office dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must have the ability to work without close supervision.
