Position Overview

This is an Entry Level Mechanic Position requiring the individual to drive a fuel truck, perform maintenance, fuel/grease equipment, and other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Inspects machines or equipment while fueling and greasing.
• Perform basic mechanic/repair procedures.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Services equipment as necessary.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Other duties assigned per supervisor.
• Drive fuel truck to various work locations performing key responsibilities.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or maintenance/repair related experience is highly preferred.

Work Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately.  
• May be subject to drug testing, and physical agility testing.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must possess or be able to obtain a Class B CDL and Hazmat endorsement.
• Must possess or be able to obtain valid DOT Medical Card.

The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
