A Belgard Sales Representative is responsible for the overall sales function of the Belgard Hardscapes product line and related accessories. This will include maintaining existing business, generating leads, creating new business through research and development including cold calling, increasing customer orders, and developing/maintaining customer relationships while providing world class customer service. As a representative of Belgard Hardscapes, you will increase company revenue by growing and maximizing sales of products within the assigned territory.
 

Job Summary

 

  • Responsible for maintaining effective relationships with current customers that lead to increased sales and revenue

  • Urgently responsive to customers’ needs and inquiries, which includes delivering samples

  • Responsible for identifying and prospecting for new customers

  • Responsible for identifying and prospecting projects to use the Belgard line

  • Develop/maintain relationships and provide great service to Landscape Architects, Architects, Civil Engineers, and Interior Designers to obtain project specifications leading to future sales

  • Grow and manage opportunity/pipeline for future territory growth

  • Work closely with customers and contractors to develop sales strategies

  • Analyze market trends and develop action plan to capitalize on shifts in market

  • Quote prices, credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained

  • Responsible for managing your business thru our contact manager, SalesForce

 

Expectations

 

  • Work territory with a high sense of urgency demonstrating entrepreneurial qualities

  • Achieve sales results through new and existing customers, maximizing share of wallet

  • Take ownership and accountability for your own performance, seek out and/or accept additional responsibilities in the context of the position

  • Return calls, emails and texts in a timely fashion with a sense of urgency

  • Get to know your customers intimately, book of business, type of work, family, hobbies, interests, sports teams & take notes

  • Lean on team members to learn more about customers, company processes and products

  • Prospect, Prospect, Prospect…stop at construction sites that may be utilizing pavers. Find out who the decision makers are. Find out who the design professionals are. If Belgard is not specified, work on flipping the spec

  • Build a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly route between your account customers

  • All customers should have Color Selection Boards (sample boards), Belgard catalogs, resource guides, Coastal Collection brochures, and updated price sheets

  • Review Open Orders report regularly. Provide your top customers with an open order report each month. Have them review to update estimated ship dates, etc

  • Utilize SalesForce to track and manage opportunities. Regularly update

  • Utilize SalesForce calendar to properly plan and efficiently work your territory

  • Become fluent in our work applications such as ComActivity and Lawson

  • Offer value added Belgard Services such as BDS, BPP and BAC

  • Conduct Lunch & Learn training sessions with installation contractor customers and design professionals (Landscape Architects, Architects, Interior Designers and Civil & City Engineers)

  • Respond and visit customer complaints within 48 hours to assess. Create cases in SalesForce when necessary for labor and/or materials credits

  • Learn your competitors and their products

  • Keep monthly notes throughout the month to better prepare yourself to complete a monthly report on your business & territory, template will be provided

  • Promote and offer ancillary products such as TruScapes Lighting, Techniseal cleaners, sands, sealers and DriBond

  • Follow up, Follow up, Follow up and do what you say

  • Monthly sales budgets will be provided starting July 29. Your goal is to achieve and surpass these stated budgets each and every month
