Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the accounting functions in Accounts Receivable. The ideal candidate will assist with daily cash application and all other related transactions applicable to the AR/cash receipt function. The primary responsibility is to ensure receipts are accurately and timely applied to customer accounts. This role will also be responsible for customer account reconciliations and assistance with customer inquiries and collections.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process and post customer payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile payments received with customer accounts and invoices.
  • Reconcile daily payments to bank ledger.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or account balances.
  • Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding payment-related inquiries or issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and payment activities.
  • Research and resolve transactions in the unapplied account.
  • Assist in the month end processes as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standard business practices, as they pertain to cash application, including internal control procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years related experience
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Team player – ability to share information within the department and company
