Job Description Summary


The Set-up Technician/Supervisor supervises production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures to achieve common goals in safety, quality, delivery, productivity and efficiency. This role uses resources available to execute production plans and ensures smooth production operation during shift. The focus of this position will be on directing the resources on the shift to attain high levels of first pass quality while executing the production plan. The Set-up Technician/Supervisor also ensures machines are running to correct specifications required and finished product is at utmost quality after mold installation. This role will also participate with a positive attitude while working with fellow team members to ensure plant orderliness, cleanliness and safety.




  • Responsible for the day-to-day performance of the shift
  • Prepare molds for set-up according to production scheduled or tests required
  • Set-up and install appointed mold into injection machine ensuring all connections and waterlines are correctly and safely connected
  • Start up the machine after installation and do initial running phase checks to ensure mold is connected correctly, machine is running to correct specifications required and the finished product is at utmost quality
  • Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures
  • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers with team members as per schedule
  • Operate within standard operating procedures and Control Plans as well as implementing new systems
  • Responsible for product quality; makes resource adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications
  • Reject product outside of specifications and initiate NCR for product outside of specifications
  • Supervise training and coach machine operators, grinders,  material handlers, and mold setters
  • Recommend employee promotions and participate in their performance reviews
  • Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment and back-up for absent employees  
  • Complete shift paper work ensuring all production data is properly collected




  • Good reading and writing skills essential
  • Good communication skills essential
  • Good mathematical skills essential
  • Previous forklift experience desirable
  • Strong mechanical traits essential
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience; plastic injection molding expreience a plus
  • Lifting materials (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the day
