PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position will be a key component to the day-to-day functions of the accounting and finance department. The candidate will need to be a motivated individual with strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills to assist in the Accounting and Finance Department in the Lexington, KY office. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Finance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Review, research, and approve all new credit applications and maintain credit agreement files
- Oversee daily calls and correspondence to past due customers
- Respond and work with inquiries from customers, and research/resolve outstanding credit issues
- Partner with sales team to research and resolve customer billing issues, disputes, corrections etc
- Oversight of legal filings for intent to Lien in KY and process lien requests; handle notice to owner issues
- Coordinate collections process through legal counsel.
- Review and approve finance charges and bad debt.
- Review and reconcile petty cash at plant locations.
- Process credit memos to customers.
- Maintain credit invoice and supporting documentation files
- Monitor credit holds in Account Receivable.
- Respond to inquiries from management sites and sales team
- Maintain unapplied payment report
- Lien Waivers for material sales
- Apply miscellaneous checks and write off finance charges
- Handle customer payments received in house
- Run daily, weekly and monthly SOX report and reviews with for compliance
- Process tax exempt certificates
- Monitor monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for A/R and Cash
- Includes Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Travel & Entertainment Spend, Cash Flow forecasts; and
- Month End closing process – various journal entries, reports, and account reconciliations.
- May assist with additional financial responsibilities as directed by Vice President of Finance.

- Excellent computer skills including email, Internet, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask as needed
- Good decision-making skills and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisor with other duties as required.
- Must be able to interact with varying levels of corporation and different levels of computer systems like ViewPoint, EIS and Microsoft Office Suite;
- Be able to provide Accounting Executives any month end reconciliation back up as needed; and
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 year Accounting Degree (preferred), and minimum 3 years’ work experience in similar position;
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management.
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures;
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices;
- Excellent communication skills and professional personal presentation;
- Organizing; planning, and customer service orientation;
- Great attention to detail and stress tolerance;
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
