Job Summary


Leads the budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and business strategic analysis of the financial team.  Conducts financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations.  Reviews analysis results, develops insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reduction and leads strategic business decisions. 


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Manage and lead a team that meets all deadlines with deliverables of the expected quality.
  • Focus on professional development of team members, accountability, respect, and driving for results.
  • Oversee consolidation of management financials for executive leadership, including monthly financial reports, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Lead development and execution of annual budgets and forecasts, focusing on underlying business drivers, key financial and operating metrics, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Develop and manage reports for forecasting, sales trends, and monthly financial results analysis, including presentation of financials to senior management.
  • Assemble large quantities of financial data and analytic results and condense them into a coherent story with clear, easy-to-understand conclusions and implications.
  • Create P&L views for key cross-sections of the business, including brand, channel, and product.
  • Collaborate with P&L and cost center managers to ensure good financial decision-making and partnership.
  • Prepare Management presentation materials and other formal financial materials. Develop clear and informative methods of presenting financial data to Senior Management
  • Understand financial operations of the business and educate others inside and outside the Finance/Accounting group about the financial performance of their respective area.
  • Partner with Accounting on annual audit as required.
  • Plan and monitor capital spending.
  • Lead ad-hoc analytical projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Any other tasks as required


Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements


To be considered for a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis position, the following conditions must be met:


  • Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting or finance
  • 10 years of experience in FP & A; distribution and/or manufacturing industry preferred.
  • 5 years management experience; team builder and leader.
  • Good understanding of GAAP
  • High level of proficiency with excel.  Experience with SAP S4Hana a plus.
  • Proven abilities in financial modeling, budget planning, cost management, cost reduction and financial forecasting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail, results oriented with a strong sense of urgency
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by completing licensure continued education requirements, attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
