Job Summary


We are looking for a driven Social Media and Public Relations Specialist to attract and interact with targeted audience in the Architectural and Building Products Markets. The goal is to achieve superior media coverage, customer engagement, website traffic and revenue by strategically leveraging all aspects of the social media marketing roadmap and publicity opportunities.  The Social Media and PR Specialist is responsible for managing strategic planning calendars for social and PR initiatives, assisting with media opportunities, contributing content for communications channels and managing all social media efforts.




  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Blog.
  • Work alongside the product marketing manager on the production and planning calendars for media outreach, blogging, and social media.
  • Implement best practices for social listening, uploading, tagging, reporting, and custom audience development on social media.
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and acting on the information.
  • Compile and update inventory of media editorial calendars, surveys, awards, architectural projects and other recognition opportunities.
  • Monitor media coverage on a daily basis and create monthly and annual reports for key internal audiences.
  • Track daily archive of news and social media coverage of industry relevant topics and competitive intelligence and proactively identify actionable opportunities as a result of this information.
  • Pitch projects, products and stories to appropriate media outlets.
  • Ensure all-around brand consistency per audience (style, images, message, voice and tone)




  • Proven working experience in Public Relations and Social Media Marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to coordinate, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously and often independently.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc) and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Positive attitude, detail oriented with good multi-tasking and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional, fast-paced professional office environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator is a preferred.
  • Creative, strong work ethic and a team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Must be reliable, organized and punctual.
  • BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations.
  • Experience in the architecture, interior design and/or building materials industry is a plus.
