Position: Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Plant Controller

What you’ll be contributing:


  • Maintains and reconciles SOX related documentation.
  • Performs reconciliation of raw material and prepares necessary reports, including invoicing.
  • Review vendor statements and investigate and address issues.
  • Handles accounts payable and account balances reconciliation.
  • Track and correct sales and use tax issue.
  • Assist plant controller in internal and external audits.
  • Assist managers, superintendents and supervisors in cost tracking of special projects.
  • Data entry purchase requisitions.  Filing and distribution of all purchase orders.
  • Generates, types, and/or distributes various reports for plant management including life insurance, employment, safety, vacation, personnel, retirements, etc., as needed.
  • Maintains an organized filing system for general correspondence.
  • Monitors office equipment and machines for proper function and obtains appropriate maintenance and repair as needed
  • Make copies of reports, correspondence, documents and other pertinent information as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested by plant management such as performing duties for other office employees during vacations or other absences.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and greets visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner, as needed.
  • Takes accurate and detailed messages when needed and/or redirects callers as appropriate.
  • Oversees select contracts and contractors
  • Assists with payroll processing as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



To succeed in this position, you will need:


  • High school graduation or equivalent is required
  • 6 or more months of experience performing similar accounting and/or administrative responsibilities
  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. 


What to expect in a cement environment:


Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
