Position Overview

This position will support the DOT Compliance Manager by performing research, organizing and indexing files, running reports and other administrative responsibilities integral to maintaining a fleet and monitoring company drivers in accordance with any state, federal and otherwise dictated laws or regulations as they pertain to save operations of commercial motor vehicles. Employee must be able to assist in interface daily with recruiters, human resources, driver coaches, safety managers and senior leadership.  Must be able to research, and knowledgeable with applicable state, federal, industry specific and company standards. Fosters teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of yourself and others.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Responsible for maintaining historical and current driver files associated with driver performance.
  • Assist in maintaining and tracking assigned training courses.
  • Create and maintain driver compliance reporting and communication needs with appropriate personnel across the business.
  • Compile and analyze driver data utilizing PSP, Tenstreet, MVR’s and other programs to assess driver qualifications and verifying driving history backgrounds.
  • Assist DOT Compliance Manager with the coordination of activities involving programs, policies, and procedures to ensure effectiveness/compliance with all applicable standards.
  • Assist in reviewing roadside inspections, vehicle citations/warnings and crash reports for Data-Q challenges.
  • Create and develop digital forms used for driver training compliance.
  • Assist DOT Compliance Manager with the oversight and support ensuring compliance with Ten Street by educating the driver coaches and recruiters.
  • Check daily CSA scores that are a direct result of Roadside inspections.
  • Assist with programs supporting hiring and audit to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Maintain DOT Qualification files to ensure compliance, reviewing FMCSA regulations, including coordination with vendors supporting DOT Compliance.
  • Oversee compliance with License monitoring of all employees.  Develop and maintain automated tracking of infractions per company policy, communication with employees, managers, and FLDMV.
  • Act as the safety training administrator for company and third-party safety trainings.  Support tracking and development of training for safety members and drivers.
  • Assist with the maintenance of tracking records regarding training, DOT files, FMCSA and DOT compliance needs.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, recordkeeping, and documentation is generated to be used in reporting local activates to management and assist in the reporting for local, state, or federal agencies.
  • Creation and maintenance of comprehensive data spreadsheets, pivot tables and various safety reporting.
  • Assist Compliance Manager with the random drug screening process partnering with HR and operations.
  • Assist with Hearing Conservation developing tracking to ensure all required tests are being completed.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily according to PMI guidelines and standards. 

 

Education/Experience

  • 2years of related experience- safety, DOT FMCSA (Trucking) compliance required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft/Excel

 Work Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule including holidays when necessary.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong computer skills including creation of data base tracking, spreadsheets, and various communications.
  • Ability to proactively review processes and make sound recommendations.
  • High ethical standards
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment. 
  • Ability to utilize resources (people, materials, support) to get things done. 
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and federal motor carrier processes, standards etc.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Work Environment

Position is primarily sedentary and in an office setting.   Periodic times of travel to training locations and plants may be required.
