Job Summary
Oldcastle Infrastructure is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to support engineering, drafting, and manufacturing functions. This interdisciplinary role provides a robust learning experience across engineering design, production processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interns will apply classroom-based engineering principles to update and maintain drawings, review Bills of Material (BOMs), analyze production processes, and support documentation that aligns engineering intent with manufacturing execution.
This position is expected to start in-person around May 2026 and continue through the entire summer term (i.e., May 2026 through August 2026). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.

Job Responsibilities
- Engineering & Process Support
• Analyze manufacturing processes, collect data, and assist with recommending improvements.
• Support troubleshooting efforts to reduce downtime and improve workflow efficiency.
• Learn production processes and ensure engineering documentation aligns with operational and manufacturing capabilities.
• Collaborate with estimating and production teams to validate specifications, quantities, and drawing accuracy.
• Assist in updating and maintaining current product drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Gain exposure to robotic welding operations by supporting print review and BOM accuracy for standard welded products.
• Observe and assist with basic robotic welding programming updates and changeovers for repeatable products under engineering or production supervision.
- Drafting & Drawing Accuracy
• Review, compare, and correct engineering drawings to ensure precision and consistency.
• Update 2D and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Generate accurate drawings and models based on Bills of Material (BOM) and ERP data.
• Maintain organized CAD files and support improvements to drafting workflows and documentation standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with engineering, estimating, production, and operations teams to communicate drawing updates and design changes.
• Participate in engineering discussions to understand design intent, robotic welding requirements, and production constraints.
• Provide input to enhance drafting standards, documentation practices, and manufacturability considerations.
• Assist with basic fixture design, review, and implementation to support robotic welding, assembly, and repeatable manufacturing processes.
Job Requirements

Sophomore through Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.

Foundational knowledge of engineering principles with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Exposure to AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Compensation

The hourly pay is $25.00/hr.
