The Engineering Manager develops the overall concepts of new projects and/or solves problems that may prevent their completion. Directs, plans, and supervises engineering contractors throughout the project. Applies procedures within the specific scope of work (SOW). This role will initially be based in Midlothian, TX and will support projects located in various Ash Grove locations in the future. 
What you’ll be contributing:


  • Promotes and follows all aspects of safety guidelines making sure all the designs will be developed following the safety standards and participating in meetings.  
  • Develops a deep knowledge of the market of Designer and Engineering companies, writes the scope work and main technical conditions, and requests for quotation up to the contract signature with the chosen Designer/Engineering companies, 
  • Manages the engineering companies controlling the timing, cost, deliverables, and quality assuring that all the scope of work is delivered following the contract obligations.
  • Develops or revise the main contract technical documents, and project technical compliance to the scope, company standards, and local codes. 
  • Works with subject matter experts and site engineering personnel and assures that assigned contractors for projects conform to SOW.
  • Works closely with the project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule. Works with and alerts the Project Manager of any scope deviations that could affect scope, budget, or safety. 
  • Interact with contractors and project management regarding regular project risk evaluation and monitoring. Verifies compliance with the contracted and allocated resources by the contractors.
  • Participates in regular meetings and follows up on compliance by the contractors with the detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Assesses project progress and productivity/performance to identify areas for improvement and continuity of construction progress; ensures contractors initiate adjustments as needed.
  • Assists with input and best practices with direction and RFI support during construction.


To succeed in this position, you will need:


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, mining, or related discipline required
  • 7 or more years in mining, cement industry, or related industry with lead technical level experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects
  • Knowledge of the cement process
  • Ability to effectively negotiation 
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, techniques, and standards 




  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking
  • Constant hearing, use of vision, use of computer, telephone
  • Occasional driving, bending, crouching, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces, pushing/pulling, and working at high elevations required
  • Occasionally working in extreme heat/cold, wet/humid conditions, dust/smoke/fumes, around equipment in motion, varying noise levels, poor lighting, and exposure to jarring and vibration.
