Position Overview:

Dufferin Aggregates is looking for a Land & Rehabilitation Manager! Reporting to the Soil Management & Environment Director, this candidate will be responsible for, supporting the growth of the Soil Management line of business by providing the necessary direction to optimize and maximize soil importation across all sites.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to open additional soil importation sites.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team to ensure attraction and retention of new customers.
  • Collect market intelligence on competitor activities related to excess soils in Ontario.
  • Analyze the environmental documentation submitted by customers to determine suitability for importation.
  • Establish yearly budget and manage operational costs
  • Ensure environmental quality control guidelines are followed upstream (at the customers job site) and downstream (at the receiving site).
  • Support the Operations team in the rehabilitation of depleted lands to maximize the value to each property.
  • Track and comment as required, any new legislation on soil regulations in Ontario.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in geotechnics, customer service and/or environmental service
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Autonomy and organization
  • Background or experience in Planning/ Geological/ Land Use/ Landscape Architecture

Education:

  • Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist/Technician in the following field: Civil or Environmental.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the aggregates and/or construction industry.
