Overall Responsibility

Responsible for executing all operational activities involved in receiving, placing and testing of imported excess soil as directed by the Manager, Soil Management.

Interfacing and cooperating with other functional groups and sub-contractors (as required) to maintain safe and efficient facilities and processes; .


Duties and Day-to-Day Responsibilities


Ensure business operates within the principles of the CRH Four Pillars
Inspect all materials as delivered and maintain a register of all receipts.
Operate in a manner that continues to support CRH’s role as a good community partner. Ensure compliance in health & safety, environmental stewardship, and licence & permitting parameters. 
Perform all necessary monitoring and audit testing to ensure that all excess fill imported meets governed requirements and permitted limitations.
Ensure daily operations are performed in a manner that ensures safety of all workers and visitors to site.
Coordinate the  placement (dumping & grading) of all imported materials to ensure progressive rehab meets MNRF and/or municipal permit/licence requirements.
Coordinate geotechnical,  geological, geophysical, and hydrogeological testing and data collection programs.


Candidate Profile


Academic: CET, Environmental Engineer
Experience: 3 years, mining or construction sites
Safety Oriented and Environmentally Responsible
Ability to influence people in the course of their work to meet company objectives
Strong organizational, analytical and quantitative skills
Sound knowledge of operating processes and procedures
Sound knowledge of products and services
Sound knowledge of OH&S policies, procedures and regulations
