Operates a Large milling machine with conveyor, be familiar with Level Pro & Multiplex systems. Job duties include Milling streets, Highways, Parking lots:  May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to the equipment and ensuring the machine is cleaned after every shift.




  1. Must be able to operate a milling machine while capable of maintaining the depth of cut and cross slope that will achieve the results specified in the project contract documents
  2. Able to remove existing asphalt pavement by milling to improve the ride ability and cross slope of the pavement, to lower the finished grade adjacent to existing curb prior to resurfacing, or to completely remove existing pavement
  3. Operate the milling machine with a built-in automatic grade control system while controlling the transverse slope and the longitudinal profile to produce the specified results
  4. Operate and limit the amount of dust escaping during the removal operation
  5. Milling cross slope, remove the existing pavement to the average depth specified in the plans
  6. Understand production and quantity requirements
  7. Ability to utilize automatic grade control system
  8. Ability to train other crew members
  9. Responsible for daily maintenance of equipment to remain in proper and safe working order, Various drum maintenance and changing of teeth. Cleaning of machine after every shift.
  10. Notify supervisor if equipment needs repair
  11. Must partner with crew members to remove bituminous concrete utilizing the milling machine.
  12. Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time.
  13. Job requires the following motions: climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting, driving, vibration, and twisting.
  14. Excellent Communication skills with crew members to ensure the job is completed.
  15. Ability to withstand common vibratory motions associates with operation of equipment and occasionally rough terrain.
  16. Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and public.
  17. Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes and time changes in shift.
  18. Must pass drug test and background check.





  1. High school diploma
  2. Previous Milling experience preferred




Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA and state agencies.  Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position:  Hardhat, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, safety vest/high visibility clothing for any work in the field.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust to focus, and operate various pieces of equipment.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
