PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires the Laborer skills needed to assist our asphalt paving crews in various types of projects, including raking, shoveling, tamping, sweeping. May also include paver screed operation and set-up, as responsibilities can be extended based on experience and ability.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Labor requirements needed in support of hot mix asphalt paving of roads, highways, and parking lots.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in roadway or site construction and working around or with asphalt paving operations.
- Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to perform work in daytime and nighttime conditions.
- OSHA 10 certification will be required if hired.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA and state agencies. Protective equipment that is required for this position: Hardhat, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, safety vest/high visibility clothing for any work in the field, and hearing protection.

This position requires an employee to lift:
Continuous: 0 - 10 lbs.
Frequently: 10 - 50 lbs.
Occasionally: 50 - 100 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near heavy mobile equipment, trucks, and mechanical parts, works outside in varied weather conditions that may be hot and humid, cold and icy, rainy and wet. The noise level in the work environment may be high.
