Job Summary
Performs procedures involved with loading trucks and unloading railroad cars.  Assists Terminal Manager in office work and performs maintenance as needed.  Performs duties as back-up to Terminal Manager.  Works under supervision with standard practice procedures and guidelines.  Refers problems to supervisor for guidance.
 
Essential Functions
•    Loads trucks in a timely manner and operates a computerized loading system.    5%
•    Unloads railroad cars in a timely manner to ensure efficient customer service.    5%
•    Operates silos and compressors.    5%
•    Performs regular cleaning, preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment, buildings and terminal grounds.  Keeps all air slides, valves and solenoids in car unloading and truck loading systems in good working order.    5%
•    Performs daily activities associated with handling inquiries and orders for customers and sales personnel.    5%
•    Assists when needed on the daily shipping report and other required records.    5%
•    Assists in controlling inventory by monitoring unloading and loading systems.    5%
•    Assists in training other terminal employees, including temporary employees.    5%
•    Performs responsibilities of the Terminal Manager when the Terminal Manager is absent due to health reasons, vacation, etc.    5%
 
 
Qualifications
 
Education
H.S. Diploma / GED  -  Required
 
Work Experience
1 year of experience in a cement or related industry terminal.    Required
 
Skills and Abilities
    Knowledge of terminal operation policies and procedures.  Skill in using terminal equipment and computerized systems.          Required
    Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.         Required
    Ability to operate all terminal equipment and office machines, including railcar vibrators, silos and related equipment, switch engine and rail cars.        Required
    Ability to climb silo ladders up to 50-90 feet in height (as applicable for each terminal).        Required
