Position Overview
The position will work closely with the Division Benefits Manager and HR Leadership to facilitate the leave processes related to employee benefits. This will include responsibility for maintaining employee records and monitoring for legal and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The person will be responsible to:
- Actively manage and support employee-qualified leave of absence programs to include FMLA, ADA, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and any other state or company approved leave.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all government regulations and laws and advises employees on company policy, guidelines, and documentation requirements to ensure compliance.
- Monitors and tracks absence status, documentation, and return to work dates.
- Ensure accurate collection and tracking of benefit premiums while employees are on leave.
- Coordinates with HR to develop modified work scheduling or return to work accommodations connected to a leave of absence.
- Act as liaison between UNUM, employee and local HR.
- Manage and process all Life Insurance Claims.
- Work closely with Safety Claims Administrators and/or Regional HR on all workers compensation claims with a leave component.
- Perform as the backup to the West Division Benefit Administrators and/or Data Specialists.
- Other duties or benefit related tasks may be assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 1-3 years related experience in an office setting.
- 1-3 years related experience in leave administration.
- General knowledge of federal and state leave regulations preferred.
- General knowledge of HR preferred.
- General knowledge of Health Benefits preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be fluent in English.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Travel will be less than 10%.
