Position Overview

The Batchperson tickets drivers to customer orders utilizing electronic means to transmit delivery assignments.  The Batchperson will compile statistics and reports on work progress and schedules and communicate with production and delivery personnel through ESChat, phone, email and other means necessary to ensure accurate and on-time delivery service.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Batches concrete load according to specifications. Reads dispatch orders and understands required needs for production of materials.
  • Conduct batching operations in an efficient and safe manner while complying with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct batching functions in a professional manner and ensure compliance with job specifications and all applicable environmental and air quality regulations.
  • Prints out invoice tickets on each truck/load and files. Gives copy of invoice to truck drivers to obtain customer payment upon delivery of materials as needed.
  • Responsible for efficient working condition of plant equipment. Performs maintenance to batch plant which includes greasing parts, sweeping, shoveling, performing equipment repairs, cleaning, removing jam-ups, and welding.
  • Become proficient in all batching, dispatching & Quality Control Software.
  • Maintain time and material records.
  • Ability to understand appropriate uses of various mix designs.
  • Responsible for efficient working condition of plant equipment.
  • Must be able to climb man ladder.
  • Follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred.

 

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Report to the office dressed appropriatly according to company policy and ready to work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Must be willing to work off hours,nights, weekends and occasionally holidays when necessary. 

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as delivery tickets, safety rules and procedure manuals as well as carry out written or verbal instructions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools including Excel, Word and Outlook preferred.  Must be able to use the internet effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate basic mathematical skills as well as the ability to interpret and compute basic formulas.
  • Ability to cope well in stressful environments and communicate professionally.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

 

Physical Requirements
The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move anywhere up to 50-75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
