Position Overview

Responsible for managing all aspects of project lifecycles. Liaise with plant and GTS / MTS teams to coordinate and achieve acceptable solutions. Direct and plan activities using own initiative in order to achieve overall project objectives. May travel to various Ash Grove Cement locations as needed, up to 50% to successfully manage projects.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Promote and follow all aspects of safety guidelines (CRH safety 16 live Savings Rules) making sure all the designs will be developed in accordance with the safety standard required, and participate in meetings as required.  
• Prepare technical tender documents, including detailed scopes, and acceptance criteria for procurement of equipment, services of Engineering consultants, and construction contractors taking account of the requirements specific to the relevant Ash Grove plant, as well as the required CRH standards and local codes. Works with CRH subject matter experts and site engineering personnel and assures that assigned contractors for projects conform to SOW
• Work along with the Project Manager, Capex Commercial Director, and Procurement Manager managing all the technical RFI during the tender process.
• Along with the plant Management, he’s assisting with the preparation of the layout and scope of work  
• Prepare and update project cost estimates and assist management teams with the preparation of CX application documents (Technical Challenge Session and technical White Paper) 
• Manage the engineering companies during the design phase controlling timing, cost, and quality to ensure that all the scope of work is delivered in accordance with the contract obligations
• Conduct regular engineering status update meetings 
• Work closely with the project team to develop project schedules related to the engineering part and manage the construction engineering RFI coming from the contractors 
• Analyze and compare received tenders and make a proper technical tabulation and prepare the recommendations and ranking on the selection of suppliers based on technical merit.
• Work with the procurement department in the negotiation of the technical part of the contracts up to the contract signature with the chosen equipment supplier, contractor, or Engineering company.
• Assess Engineering project progress and productivity/performance to identify areas for improvement and continuity of construction progress; have contractors initiate adjustments as needed.
• Coordinate the work of other engineering resources that might be assigned to project 
• Participate in the monthly project progress meeting and CAPEX team coordinating meeting 
• Use the AGC – CRH project management tools 
• Other duties as assigned by management  

Other Requirements

• Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. in English required. 
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.  
• Cement process knowledge

Experience

• 10 or more years of experience in Lead technical role in mining, cement industry. 

Licenses and Certifications

• Other EIT (Preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) (Preferred)

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, mining, or related discipline.
