Position Overview
The Aggregate Sales Representative will drive pricing growth, provide superior customer service, and support market expansion through acquisition of new customers. The role emphasizes collaboration across multiple lines of business, exceptional communication, and responsiveness to the customer base. The representative will prioritize face-to-face interaction to develop and keep strong relationships with customers and work closely with production, sales, and marketing teams in adjacent territories. Logging activities in Salesforce, accurate forecasting, and participation in sales meetings will be key aspects of the role, alongside occasional overnight travel.
Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Facilitate comprehensive sales and marketing of concrete and related services to end-users, including private contractors, municipalities, commercial businesses, and agencies within the territory.
- Under the guidance of the Director of Sales develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company goals for pricing growth.
- Represent the company in customer interactions, ensuring a customer-centric approach by resolving concerns and finding opportunities for service improvement.
- Collaborate with counterparts in adjacent territories and across lines of business to leverage vertical integration for enhanced operational efficiency.
- Maintain detailed logs of customer interactions, leads, and opportunities in Salesforce, using it as a primary tool for sales management.
- Regularly review and update forecasts, backlogs, and market conditions to support forecasting efforts.
- Actively take part in sales meetings and cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment with company goals and market strategies.
- Ensure responsiveness by promptly following up on sales leads, quotes, and customer requests.
- Maintain awareness of competitor activities and market conditions to proactively adjust sales strategies.
- Collaborate closely with the operations and production teams to address any internal or external factors affecting sales or customer relationships.
- Participate in local marketing events and foster relationships with new customers as part of the company’s market expansion strategy.
- Conduct overnight travel as necessary to support sales and training activities and foster strong internal and external customer relationships.
Other Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
- Understand and adhere to all policies as outlined in the CRH Code of Business Conduct.
- Strict adherence to Mulzer policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and aid co-workers or supervisors with other duties as needed.
- Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Mulzer employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
- Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
• Experience in the construction materials industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce or similar CRM tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel overnight when needed to support sales activities.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
