Manage the people, property, equipment, and material for the importation and distribution of bulk cementitious materials.  Provides leadership for the following functions: Safety, Maintenance, Cost Control, Inventory, Reporting, Personnel Management, and Professional Development.  Works with all departments to maintain efficiency within the operation and deliver exceptional customer service.  


Essential Duties


  • Responsible for the safe operation of the offloading and shipping of bulk cementitious materials.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of terminal personnel. 
  • Maintain equipment and grounds to company standards.
  • Develop yearly budget and controls costs to meet budget levels.
  • Work with contractors or other departments to schedule manpower for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Produce weekly schedules for employees to cover shipping or unloading needs.
  • Becomes proficient with SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Completes and maintains reports for material shipped, equipment runtimes, and maintenance and employee hours.
  • Completes and maintains records required by US Coast Guard and Port Authority
  • Monitor employees’ work levels and review work performances. 
  • Determine personnel action plans for employees for job improvement.
  • Work to develop and help with training for employees.
  • Monitor employee  work hours, PTO, absenteeism  and training hours
  • Improve and maintain systems to control inventory levels and optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure all plant safety policies are being followed at all times.
  • Assure environmental compliance when offloading or loading bulk cement.


Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • People management skills to develop and maintain working relationships, conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
  • Financial analysis skills with the ability to develop budgets.
  • Good working knowledge of material handling processes and equipment.
  • Work overtime, odd and unscheduled hours as required.
  • Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, frequent sitting/standing, working within confined spaces and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely work in an outdoor environment with frequent exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements


  • Material Handling of Cement Manufacturing -- Knowledge of methods, equipment and the tools involved in the shipping and offloading of bulk cement.
  • Mechanical -- Knowledge of equipment used, machines and tools, including their uses, repair of, and maintenance.
  • Ability to learn SAP, Microsoft word and excel
  • Environmental – Knowledge of FDEP, EPA and Coast Guard regulations.
