Position Overview
The Plant Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating all activities that support the safe, efficient, and high‑quality production of company materials. This role may occasionally require hands‑on equipment operation, plant operation, or general labor as needed. Job is located in Teton.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures related to worker safety and plant operations.

Lead and coordinate production activities through subordinate personnel, applying knowledge of production technology, methods, procedures, and equipment capabilities to support concrete and aggregate material production.

Collaborate with management to establish production and quality control standards, and assist in developing budgets and cost‑control measures.

Plan and direct production activities, setting priorities that support efficient operations and cost‑effective production.

Coordinate production with procurement, maintenance, and quality control teams to optimize workforce, equipment, and material utilization.

Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify causes of non‑conformance or production issues.

Develop and implement operational methods and procedures to resolve issues, enhance product quality, and ensure plant readiness does not impact customer material supply.

Maintain and enhance the appearance and condition of company property and facilities.

Manage Profit & Loss responsibilities for assigned operations.

Oversee hiring, training, and retention of Ready‑Mix Concrete (RMC) drivers.

Ensure operating costs remain within approved budget levels.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
-
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Experience: Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in concrete, asphalt, or aggregate operations.
Work Requirements
-
Directly supervise ready‑mix equipment and daily operational activities.
-
Communicate with customers, dispatch, and internal departments to ensure safe, accurate, and timely delivery of products and services.

Report subordinate commendations, disciplinary actions, operational issues, quality concerns, productivity challenges, or unusual purchasing needs to Management.

Schedule PTO and report unexcused absences or tardiness to Management. Prepare incident reports as required.

Verify, review, and approve daily timecards and production‑related purchases. Ensure timely submission of all timecards and invoices to the office.

Immediately report accidents or incidents to Management. Confirm completion of all related reports and assist with investigations as needed.

Review and analyze productivity reports to support continuous operational improvement. Conduct assigned performance evaluations. Compile, verify, and maintain accurate production, quality control, purchasing, inventory, and best‑practice documentation.

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Promote professionalism among all subordinate employees and foster positive working relationships with customers and team members.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Supervisory experience and knowledge of construction, concrete operations, computer systems, and applicable regulations.

Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and state/federal procedures, practices, and specifications related to quality control and production.

Ability to make sound day‑to‑day decisions using professional judgment. Changes to company policy or major deviations from standard procedures require approval from the Operations Manager or General Manager.

Work Hours: This position typically requires approximately 45 hours per week.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here represent those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands for signaling and equipment handling. Occasional activities include standing, walking, crawling, kneeling, bending, and reaching above shoulder height. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50–75 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
