Position Overview       

In this role, you’ll manage all aspects of public and private asphalt paving/grading construction projects of various sizes. You’ll prepare and manage bids and serve as the primary point of contact to communicate project cost, staffing, scheduling, and updates with contractors. You’ll see the impacts of your work each day in every construction project you complete – from driveways to highways and parking lots to airports, you’ll play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

 

Location: This is an in-person position based out of Richland, WA.

 

Compensation

  • Annual Base Salary $70,000 – $85,000 DOE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

To excel in this role, you should have (Minimum Required Qualifications):

  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organization skills.
  • The ability to effectively organize, coordinate, and manage multiple projects at a time from start to finish, and provide effective communication to key parties at all stages.
  • The ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, and find the best solutions when problems arise.
  • Proficient with PC Programs and the Microsoft Office Suite and possess the ability to learn new programs and applications.
  • Proven ability to work independently without direct supervision and use available resources to solve problems.
  • A valid driver’s license, the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and current US Authorization to work, or the ability to obtain prior to start without company assistance.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Project, Bid2Win, and takeoff software applications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or related field and/or previous experience in bidding, estimating, project coordination, or project management for asphalt paving projects.
  • An understanding of civil construction blueprints/drawings/specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Identify and respond timely to bid opportunities.
  • Attend pre-construction conferences.
  • Produce project schedules, material submittals, and other documents required by contracts.
  • Coordinate subcontracts and sub-contractors.
  • Serve as project manager for construction projects; establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of the superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with safety officials to ensure safety policies, procedures, and steps are communicated and in place to protect all project personnel.
  • Ensure construction crews always have the tools and training to operate safely and that all federal, state, and local laws concerning safety, environment, and other applicable areas are adhered to.
  • Coordinate project-specific training, safety, and EEOC compliance.
  • Prepare/approve monthly pay estimates from owner and subcontractors.
  • Assure accuracy of sub-contractor submittals and coordination of work.
  • Coordination with owners on timing of work and proper completion.
  • Negotiate all contract change orders in writing prior to the work being accomplished.
  • Respond timely to all owner and sub-contractor correspondence.
  • Approve all subcontractor-supplier invoices.
  • Maintain daily project logs/quantity records. Monitor job costs through collaboration with operations/records
  • Assume compliance with project specifications, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend and adhere to operating budget for the fiscal year under the direction of the General Manager.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.

  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
