Oldcastle APG Canada West is seeking a qualified individual to join our energetic and thriving team located in Richmond, BC. The Customer Service Representative will report directly to the CSR Supervisor and will be an integral part of the sales team.
Job Summary:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for tasks such as order entry, answering the telephone, providing exceptional customer service, purchasing, and inventory control. The successful candidate will have 2 to 4 years of prior customer service, data entry, order desk and/or purchasing & inventory control experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process orders that are received in person, email, via fax and telephone
- Arrange transportation, including obtaining best price and timely delivery to meet customer needs
- Assist customers by providing information and product specifications
- Coordinate deliveries of jobsite and retail locations, including processing/posting of pallet returns and some product returns
- Working with all aspects of dispatching, including but not limited to, confirming freight and matching pick/ship tickets.
- Work closely with production, yard, shipping, and sale staff to get orders out to customers in a timely and efficient manner
- May collaborate with outside sales team to exchange information of value regarding customer inquiries
- Process product returns & refunds
- Process cash/debit/credit account transactions
- Assist with receiving of goods and raw materials for yard, maintenance, and production
- Assist with cycle counts on inventory to include all products produced, investigate and report variances to Operations Manager
- Work with appropriate Operations team to prepare yard and plant for quarterly counts of finished goods and raw materials including the set-up of count teams
- Work with Operations Manager to complete inventory counts and posting of final variance
- Print all required reports related to inventory and provide to Operations Manager for signature
- Investigate and explain inventory variances
Skills/Knowledge and Experience:
- Ability to work in a team setting with a variety of different personalities from various departments and positions
- Must have very strong customer service and data entry skills
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Must possess advanced computer skills specifically in Microsoft Office Suite, prior experience working with an ERP/MRP considered an asset
- High School Diploma
- Ideally 2-4 years of experience in a customer service role and/or purchasing & inventory control role preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Public transportation is not available, all candidates must have their own reliable means of transportation
