Skid Steer Foreperson leads crews in excavation, demolition, or landscaping, combining expert operation of equipment with site management. They ensure safety compliance, manage daily operations, maintain equipment, and interpret project plans, often requiring experience and strong leadership skills.
- Supervises and leads a crew to complete projects efficiently.
- Operates skid steers and various attachments for tasks like grading, material handling, and clearing.
- Enforces site safety protocols, conducts equipment inspections, and ensures crew compliance with company standards.
- Interprets, understands, project plans and adjust equipment operations to meet specifications
- Submits daily reports, maintains inventory, and manages time sheets.
- Demonstrates safety first, speaks up when sees unsafe act.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Clean driving record with valid license.
- Must have experience in construction management or heavy equipment operation.
- Proficiency in operating skid steers, including understanding high-flow hydraulics for attachments.
- Ability to load and unload construction materials from trucks and other equipment
- Assist with digging, grading, and trenching operations
- Ability to communicate clearly with field personnel, clients, and supervisors.
- Not always required, certifications are preferred.
Work Environment
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
- Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
