Position Overview

The Haul Truck Driver is responsible for operating a haul truck and hauling material from the rock pit to the crusher in a safe manner. This is a seasonal, hourly position with occasional overtime as needed


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as haul truck, bobcat, skid steer, and man lift and report any problems to your manager in a timely fashion.
  • Must partner with other quarry employees as instructed by the facility manager to ensure daily schedules are met.
  • Manage duties in a timely and efficient manner, and be able to work independently.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance on plant equipment as needed, using ladders to access platforms and landings.
  • When working with co-workers, constant eye contact will be maintained when backing, communicating using hand signals or other movements.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Follow the direction of foreperson with regard to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
  • Perform daily pre–and–post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completions and learn/help where needed at the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Crusher component knowledge, mechanical skills, basic knowledge of aggregate products.
  • Previous crusher and equipment operation preferred.
  • Experience with running dump trucks, haul trucks, or similar for aggregate materials within a quarry.
  • Construction-related experience preferred


Work Requirements

  • Valid drivers’ license a plus
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and “Fit for Work” physical.
  • Willing to travel and work from other Company locations throughout the Willamette Valley.
  • Be able to work overtime when required.
  • Regular, on-time attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA or MSHA.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs. Physical abilities test will be required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving, mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and heat.  The employee frequently works outside and has exposure to some vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
