In this role, you’ll operate a haul truck, as well as other construction equipment, to haul materials from our stock piles to the crusher. Wage: $23+/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as haul truck, bobcat, skid steer, and man lift and report any problems to your manager in a timely fashion.
  • Must partner with other quarry employees as instructed by the facility manager to ensure daily schedules are met.
  • Manage duties in a timely and efficient manner, and be able to work independently.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance on plant equipment as needed, using ladders to access platforms and landings.
  • When working with co-workers, constant eye contact will be maintained when backing, communicating using hand signals or other movements.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Follow the direction of foreperson with regard to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
  • Perform daily pre–and–post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completions and learn/help where needed at the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Driving or experience in a commercial or construction setting highly preferred.
  • Experience with running dump trucks, haul trucks, or similar for aggregate materials within a quarry a plus.

 

Certificates, License, Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Mechanical skills, basic knowledge of aggregate products a plus but not required.

 

Work Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination and controlled substance testing
  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance and attendance.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.
  • Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs. Physical abilities test will be required.
